canals, coffee shops, bikes and dykes, the densely populated, tiny nation is so flat, so liberal, and has so many tall people. it’s really windy, the stairs are steep, and it's the only country in the world I have trouble crossing the street. cars, scooters, busses, trams, trains, lifting bridges, and 18 million bicycles..they'll getcha. on the one hand dutch fashion is conceptual and artistic and on the other it's utilitarian and muted...then there's the kids combining the two quite nicely. im into it and have a good feeling for the future of fashion in the nederlands. a
